Located on the side of Sam Mountain (Nui Sam in Vietnamese), the three star Victoria Nui Sam Lodge is the latest addition to the suite of Victoria Hotels and Resorts. Our brand new facilities are designed to highlight the surrounding environment as well as the pursuit of wellness and fitness. To that end, guests can reconnect with nature by strolling the extensive grounds complete with vegetable and herb gardens and hiking our scenic "health" trail.
At 284m (931 feet), Sam Mountain offers stunning unobstructed views into the surrounding valley with its lush rice paddies and beyond, stretching deep into Cambodia. The layout of the Victoria Nui Sam Lodge takes advantage of those same vistas, the perfect en-route stop for discerning travelers looking for more than just a glimpse of the Mekong Delta. While only 7km (4 miles) from the hustle and bustle of Chau Doc, you might as well be a world away.

Set on the verdant mountainside of Nui Sam, Victoria Nui Sam Lodge's tastefully simple 36 bungalows are all about modern minimalism in keeping with the natural surrounds. Cool tile floors meet sleek wood furnishings all in the earthy red color scheme, allowing Nature’s décor to dazzle with her unlimited palette of earthy browns, vibrant greens and cheery yellows.

How to get there ?
Close to the Cambodian border, Khmer, Cham and Vietnamese communities live side-by-side in a stunning landscape.The Victoria Nui Sam Lodge is approximately a 20 minute drive (7km / 4 miles) from the town of Chau Doc, in the heart of the Mekong Delta and gateway to Cambodia.
The lodge is approximately 5 - 6 hours (280 km / 174 miles) from Ho Chi Minh City, 3 hours (120 km / 72 miles) from Can Tho, and 4.5 hours (200 km / 124 miles) from Phnom Penh. Estimated times based on overland travel
The best way to travel between Chau Doc and Phnom Penh is by Victoria Speedboats. The speedboat trip takes approximately 5 hours, with daily departures.
A pick-up service into town by 15-seater shuttle bus is available free of charge as below fixed schedule.

As you may know, Nui Sam Mountain is home to dozens of pagodas and shrines, making it a popular pilgrimage site, especially in the first half of the year. While Victoria Nui Sam Lodge enjoys year-round tranquility thanks to our location overlooking the plains below, we do share the same mountain road.
Local authorities have announced a modest fee for all visitors to Nui Sam (including hotel guests) of VND 20,000 (~ USD1) and VND 10,000 for children and the elderly, applicable per person per entry. This fee is scheduled to be collected during the pilgrimage season, February 20 – June 30 (dates to be confirmed).

For the more active, our extensive grounds with vegetable and herb gardens and a scenic "health" trail awaits. Mountain bikes are also available for hire to explore the surrounding area. There are also books and board games available, as is a yoga / tai chi area.
Other nearby places of interest include:
Tay An Pagoda with its domed tower, elements of Hindu and Islamic architecture and more than 200 statues including one of a goddess with a thousand eyes and a thousand hands.
Temple of Lady Xu, a structure originally built of bamboo and leaves to house the statue of Lady Xu, possibly dating back to the 6th century
The Cavern Pagoda, a series of tombs, sanctuaries and a small grotto.
Tra Su Bird Sanctuary, located within a protected forest of canjuput trees and wetlands, home to a diverse array of birds including egrets, cormorants, peafowl and storks. Gliding through a carpet of water plants and lotus, under a forest canopy on the way to a special ornithologist's watch tower for optimal bird viewing is a memorable experience, even for non-birdwatchers.
Note: The rainy season in the Mekong Delta typically features brief showers in the afternoons that impact little on planned activities.
